Benedictine College head women’s basketball coach announces the signing of a junior college transfer Justice Payne for the 2012-2013 season. Payne, a 5’9” guard from Stillwater, Okla., played at Northern Oklahoma College-Enid the past two seasons.

“We are very excited to have a player like Justice joining our women’s basketball team,” stated Coach Chad Folsom.  “She is a great outside shooter, who knows what it takes to win and be successful.  Justice is also an exceptional student, and will fit in great with our basketball family.”

Payne helped lead her Northern Oklahoma-Enid team to a 29-4 record and a top 15 ranking in the NJCAA national polls last year.  During her freshman season, Payne's NOK-Enid team went 30-7 and made it to the final four of the NJCAA Division I National Championships.

This past season, she averaged 11 points per game, 2 assists per game, and knocked down 79 three-point shots, while earning All-Region Tournament Team and Honorable Mention All-Region honors.

Not only did Payne experience success in junior college, but her high school team, Perkins-Tryon competed in the Oklahoma State High School Tournament while she was named her conference’s MVP both her junior and senior year.

Payne becomes the third signee for Coach Folsom and the Raven women's basketball team who finished the 2011-12 season at 18-13 overall and 12-6 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
