KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Two members of the 2012 Raven softball team team were among 309 athletes from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) to earn scholar athlete honors on Tuesday.

Third baseman Ashley Dobbie (Jr., Overland Park) and center fielder Shianne Busch (Jr., Fairbury, Ill.) were rewarded for their work on the field and in the classroom on Tuesday when the annual NAIA-Daktronics Scholar Athlete team was released.

It is the first Scholar Athlete honor for both Dobbie and Busch as athletes who are nominated for the award must be a junior in acadmic status, have been nominated by their institution's head coach and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Busch was also named to the All-HAAC squad earlier this year for her efforts on the field.
