Raven men's basketball coach Ryan Moody has announced that Shawn Fleming Jr., a 6-foot-2, 175-pound point guard from Dayton, Ohio, has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his education and play men's basketball at Benedictine College next year.

Fleming averaged 16 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists per game for New Christian Life Center Academy, a prep school in Humble, Texas, last year. Fleming graduated from Ohio high school powerhouse Dunbar High School in Dayton in 2011. As a senior, Fleming averaged 10 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists per game helping Dunbar to a 22-3 record. The team was the number one ranked team in Ohio throughout the year until being upset two games short of the state championship game.
Dunbar has produced such NBA talents as the Miami Heat’s Norris Cole and the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Daequan Cook.
“We are excited to have Shawn join our Benedictine College basketball program. Shawn has great point guard instincts and is a leader on the floor. He is a bigger guard who can set up his teammates with the dribble and can create his own shot when needed.” Moody said, “ He comes from a great family and an excellent basketball background. He is a great fit for Benedictine College”
Fleming is the fifth recruit in Benedictine College head coach Ryan Moody’s second recruiting class. He joins Connor Fleming from St. Louis, Jake Schannuth from Hermann, Mo., John Harris Jr. from Lincoln, Neb., and Austin Eckert from Effingham.
